Exactly when will Windows 7 be released? According to the official version the operating system should make an appearance in 2010, maybe a bit earlier.
There is increasing information though that Microsoft wants to please their customers with the new version this year. Cnet, the international news website, has information from sources from Asia and the US that internally Microsoft is aiming for the Christmas trade. There should also be no more new Beta versions, but an almost finished version and an upgrade program for those using Windows Vista.
Those at Cnet have been keeping a close eye on the release date for the new version of Windows. At the CES fair, Bill Veghte from Microsoft stated that the release date would depend on the quality of Windows 7 – it will be released when it is ready.
After the decidedly positive reactions which the Windows 7 Beta version received (which is since unfortunately no longer available), the next we should see from it is a release candidate. After that we should just expect to see a few minor changes. A program should come out in the summer for those who are buying a new PC so they can update to Windows 7 for free when it comes out.
Windows 7 is many similarities to Vista. The user interface has been given a few new functions to make it more comfortable to use and the task bar has been remodelled. What most impressed those in the industry and PC users however was the markedly improved performance.
